Steph Curry, who is currently 35 years old and still considered one of the best NBA players, has hinted at the possibility of playing into his 40s.

The Golden State Warriors are eager to take advantage of Curry’s prime performance and have extended the contracts of several veterans, including Curry, Draymond Green, and Chris Paul, with Klay Thompson likely to follow next year.

During a recent interview on Gil’s Arena, Curry admitted that whether he continues playing beyond his current contract remains uncertain, but he doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon.

“I never envisioned myself playing into my 40s and hanging on just to stay in the game,” Curry shared. “But who knows how my body will be and how I will feel at that point? I still have three years left on my current contract, including this year, so at least until then, and then I’ll figure it out from there.”

Curry went on to express that he doesn’t want to set any concrete timelines beyond his current contract, acknowledging that it would already bring him to 38 years old and completing 17 years in the NBA. He humorously added, “Just give me that! I’m not ready to skip ahead and start playing golf just yet.”

Curry, known for his impressive three-point shooting, will turn 36 in March and has three years remaining on his max extension, which will amount to $167.2 million in earnings during that time. Green’s recent extension will keep him with the Warriors until the 2026-27 season, potentially allowing Curry to continue playing alongside his close friend.

Only time will tell if Curry, the Warriors’ greatest player ever, will continue his remarkable career into his 40s.
