Jon Jones Apprehended On Four Distinct Charges

Jones was found in the early hours of Thursday morning in possession of a firearm.

Law enforcement officer Jason Brown apprehended UFC sensation Jon Jones on four distinct charges during the early hours of Thursday. Brown discovered Jones evidently inebriated and in possession of a firearm.

The detention occurred at approximately 1 am following the response of the Albuquerque police department to a gunshot incident on 3rd Street and Central Avenue. Officer Brown then encountered Jones seated in a black Jeep with the engine idling. The seasoned MMA fighter was solely accompanied by a nearly empty mezcal bottle, a handgun, and a “leafy green material on his attire, indicative of marijuana.”

After administering sobriety assessments, Jones seemed to surpass or double the permissible limit. He was taken into custody for charges encompassing aggravated DWI, improper firearm use, possession of an open container, and absence of insurance proof in his vehicle.

Video footage of the occurrence exhibited Jones reiterating to officers his assertion of “having anxiety,” while being restrained. The 32-year-old confessed to the DWI accusation, leading to the dismissal of charges linked to the alcohol container and firearm possession. Within the confines of his plea bargain, he will undergo an uninterrupted 96-hour stint in a Community Custody Program. Additionally, he must perform 48 hours of community work and remit a $500 penalty.

Jones is to remain under supervised probation for the subsequent year, wearing an ankle monitor to monitor his whereabouts. In a communication to the media, he acknowledged his “unhealthy bond with alcohol.”
