Russia dominates in the race of gold medals at skeleton race of the World Cup

Alexander Tretiakov and Elena Nikitina in a thumping fashion managed to sweep off the incredible gold medals for Russia on Friday at the very opening World Cup skeleton competitions of the New Year. It was quite evident though for the fans to speculate about the winner. No one had to put efforts in mind to guess about the winner. Most significantly, Tretiakov managed to win the race in the easiest possible fashion. It won’t be wrong to claim that this is one of the easiest wins in the history of the men’s race. However, this doesn’t mean that there was a scarcity of good performances or competitions.

Among others, those who have managed to rank themselves in the race, Yun Sungbin of South Korea, who is a much-celebrated name for winning the gold medal in the prestigious Olympic event of the year 2018, managed to stay at the second place. Apart from this, Nikita Tregubov of Russia cemented her place in the third position. It is here to note that Nikitina managed the thrilling win in the women’s segment of the game over Jacqueline Loelling of Germany. Yulia Kanakina of Russia secured her place at the third place which was indeed a memorable and defining moment of her career because it was the opening World Cup medal for her.

The most important part here is to note that it was the crucial number two victory of the current season for both Tretiakov and Nikitina. Interestingly, both of the winners were also implicated in the year 2014 at a prominent sports platform like Sochi Olympics for the infamous doping scandal. Russia has made a significant impact in this arena by winning five of the six gold medals in skeleton in this stated season.

Coming to the other names, Kendall Wesenberg managed to remain as the top U.S. woman, remaining at the ninth position. It is here to note that Austin Florian was number nine to lead the U.S. men.
