Simmons leads Philadelphia 76ers to their 10th straight win

On Sunday, Ben Simmons leads the Philadelphia 76ers to their 10th straight win, 119-102 over the Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center. He made eight rebounds, 20 points, 15 assists, three steals and two blocks to make his team stand out as the winner.

Marco Belinelli also added to the team with 22 points on a 9-of-10shooting off the bench for the Sixers who finished the four game of the season with Charlotte. On Sunday, the Cleveland Cavaliers stand at third-place by winning over the Dallas Mavericks 98-87. Philadelphia remains a half-game behind the Cavs.

Since the time the Sixers began the season 10-0 in 2000-2001, they have their first 10-game win streak. Philadelphia was playing without Dario Saric and Joel Embiid both but Simmons again was simply amazing. In the first quarter, Simmons inbounded to himself the ball off Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s back and made a score. He finished the second quarter by taking a steal in place of a reverse slam and entered the halftime with six rebounds, six assists, two steals and 10 points.

Simmons either assisted or scored on the Sixers’ final 21 points in the first half and Philadelphia entered into the third quarter with a leading score 60-51.

Brett Brown, Sixers head coach said that he feels Simmons growth is certainly expedited when he looks over and their All-Star is not there and Dario. Early in the third quarter, Simmons found JJ Redick for a 3-pointer that put the Sixers up with 13. The Hornets used 16-4 spurt to get 72-71 but Simmons threw a laser to streaking Robert Covington for a layup and inbound pass to Covington for a jam and later took T.J McConnell for a reverse slam to cap a 14-0 run. On the other hand, Ersan Ilyasova and Redick hit consecutive three in the fourth quarter to give the Sixers a lead 100-80.
